Sometimes funny things happen in life, and sometimes sad things happen. Sometimes funny things happen in the process of being sad, which is how I found my teenage self being chastised for wanting to laugh during my aunt’s funeral.
Everyone had given their eulogies. The obituary had been read. And now it was time for a song. But at this moment something unexpected happened. It was so bizarre that it felt like we were on a gag show. Yet, before my laugh could come out my father turned to me and said, “don’t you dare start laughing”.
I smiled, tried to contain myself, and wondered how many other people were doing the same thing.
It is often said that laughter is the best medicine. It can heal, it raises our vibration, and it can move stagnant energy. I’ve even heard that it can help with exorcisms, but I’ve never tried it in that regard so file that note according to your own discernment.
Laughter, laughter, don’t hold it inside.
Just let it out and let go of your pride.
