How to Let Go of Tension, Annoyances, and Painful Thoughts

This is for those who find it hard to let go of things. Maybe there are so many things to let go of that we don’t feel as if we have space to release. Or perhaps we are living in a stressful situation, and it seems absurd to be asked to heal trauma while being traumatized. We may feel like there is nothing that we can do until our physical situation changes, even though there doesn’t seem to be an opening to change anything.

Yet, there’s always a way. As we strengthen ourselves, we can learn how to take command of our thoughts, our reactions, or nervous systems. We just have to take it step by step while surrounding ourselves with self-love, encouragement, and compassion. If we are ready to take full responsibility for ourselves and our consciousness, then this technique may be helpful.

Think of one memory or occurrence that is bothering you. Next, think of between two and three words that represent it. Then, see these words in your minds eye. Don’t keep them there for too long, at the most 7 seconds.

Then let it go. See the words swept away from your vision and put into an aqua blue portal.

Let it go.

Breathe in through your nose. Breathe out. Breathe in through your nose. Breathe out. Breathe in through your nose. Breathe out.

Then support yourself with an affirmation of your choice. Here are some suggestions:

  • I do not consent to being traumatized.
  • I do not consent to mental looping.
  • I do not consent to having my space violated.
  • I command my space in cosmic sovereign law.
